What with having nothing in the way of interesting thoughts today, I thought I'd introduce you to an interesting time-waster.
Introducing...Basically, the Wiki Game is a race to get from one Wikipedia article to another in as short a time as possible, with as few clicks as possible. The above link sends you to an online multiplayer version of the game, so you can try your hand against other people.
If you find (like I did) that they're way too good for you, have some practice instead. Set yourself a random article and target article, possibly using www.thewikigame.com. Remember these and then take it at your own pace, starting with the initial article.
The Rules:
- When the game starts, you cannot click or type anywhere apart from inside the actual article.
- Follow as few links as possible from the first article to the target article as possible
- When you reach the target article count how many links it took
Afer a bit of practice, you should be ready to take on the pros. This is a good time killer, and actually tests your general knowledge at the same time.
